WWTP Schiphol (Amsterdam. The Netherlands)

Aerobic treatment of combined municipal and industrial waste water
Evides Industriewater treats the waste water of Schiphol Airport of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). This WWTP biologically purifies approximately 4,000 m3 of waste water daily to a final quality that fully qualifies for discharge into the local waterways. The effluent volume from Schiphol Airport is comparable to that of a small city with a population of 45,000.

The waste water originates from the passenger terminals, hotels and businesses at the airport; additionally it treats the waste water of aircraft maintenance and catering companies. Finally, the WWTP treats water originating from various ground water decontamination projects around the airport and de-icing liquid during winter operations.
